There are many reasons why I became a certified Love Coach and founded Love Principles — but it started with my own journey through heartbreak, healing, and self-awareness.

From an early age, I learned complicated lessons about love.

My parents didn’t originally plan to have children when they married, however my mom always said that having me turned out to be one of the greatest gifts of her life — so much so that she wanted another baby, and my brother was born shortly after.

Growing up, I could feel the difference in connection with my father. He bonded naturally with my brother over football and other sports traditions that ran deep with the men of our family, while I often felt a quiet distance.

Deep down, I learned to associate love from men with earning attention and approval, believing that if I just tried harder, I would feel fully seen and loved.

Like so many women with similar childhood experiences, when I entered the world of dating, I didn’t know the difference between attracting vs. chasing.

I chased the men I liked, fighting for their attention and affection — even the ones who would have pursued me if I had simply allowed it.

I spent a year and a half with a man who loved someone else, believing that if I loved him enough, he would choose me.

Later, I entered a relationship where I ignored the red flags, believing my loyalty and attachment were enough to build a future. I even proposed to him myself. We married, but the relationship became increasingly unhealthy and damaging to my spirit. After many years of emotional pain and instability, I made the hardest but most life-changing decision — to leave and rebuild my life.

When my current husband pursued me, it was the first time I inadvertently allowed myself to be truly chosen without chasing, or forcing it.

Even though we weren’t fully compatible in every way, I made the decision to build a life with him. Today, we share the greatest gift I could ever ask for — our beautiful, confident, smart little girl who we cherish more than words can say.

Through all of these experiences— from my earliest childhood to the relationships that shaped me — I came to some of the most powerful realizations a woman can have about love: 

• You cannot build your dream life by chasing someone else’s attention.

• You cannot attract your dream partner by abandoning your own values and standards.

• You must know who you are, build your life vision, define your goals, set your standards — and then date from a place of confidence, not desperation.

You attract the right man by living your truth, standing in your worth, and refusing to settle for less in relationships.

This is the foundation I want to give my daughter — so she never feels like she has to chase love, silence herself, or pretend to be someone she’s not to be accepted.

And it’s the mission behind Love Principles — to help women, of all ages, who are ready to stop chasing, stop doubting, and finally attract and keep the kind of love they were always meant to experience.
